Back to when it all began
Our story began in 1960 when Kriangkrai and Nantana Chotiwattanaphan (founders of CHOTIWAT group) started selling steamed fish at a local market in Hatyai, a city in the south of Thailand. Due to the seasonal variations of fishery resources, the couple began own fishery trading which enabled them to offer fresh seafood all year-round in both local and Malaysian.

The couple took a turn from the fish market business to the food processing industry in 1987 upon the establishment of Kiang Huat Seagull Trading Frozen Food Company (KST). By offering premium-quality frozen seafood products, the company successfully found new market outlets in Japan, and subsequently, in Europe and the Americas.

The growing production
capacity under CMC
To expand its production base, Chotiwat Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (CMC) was established with the registered capital of THB 50 million in 1988. Various facilities were also built to meet international food processing standards. The production of value-added products expanded with the annexation of the second factory in 1996. By 1997, its registered capital increased to THB 150 million.

new milestones
As CMC welcomed the new millennium, its annual sales reached USD 100 million, and its growth to 3,000 employees. In 2004, the company increased its registered capital to THB 200 million and has made a great effort to improve on working standards and various quality management schemes. This enabled CMC launched its third factory to expand on Kosher products.

CMC hit another breakthrough in 2012 when its annual revenue reached USD 200 million as a result of the expansion in the value-added product market. The company generated 3,500 jobs. and the company installed an Automatic Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) to upgrade inventory management and the efficiency of product delivery. In 2014, CMC increased its registered capital to THB 500 million in order to acquire NK Seafreeze Co., Ltd.
